      Bird Call

"After showcasing at the 2012 SXSW Conference, Chiara Angelicola aka "Bird Call" is gearing up for the release of a new collection of music in the summer of 2012. Bird is currently in production with producer Bryan Senti (Mark Ronson, Rufus Wainwright) and, for a third time, Joel Hamilton (Tom Waits, Sparkle Horse, The Black Keys). Bird Call is also featured in the Google Music Ad, promoting the launch of the new Google Music cloud, which is geared towards the independent musician. In the past year, Angelicola released two digital EPs. Other Creatures (released May 24th, 2011 FHC Records), is a digital EP of cover songs featuring covers of Beck, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, and Man Man, who's frontman Honus Honus personally extended his liking of Bird's version of "Doo Right". Upon its release, iTunes featured the record on it's Singer/Songwriter homepage as "New and Noteworthy"for 8 consecutive weeks. Prior to Other Creatures, Bird Call released The Animals Know EP in October 2010 (FHC Records), again produced by Joel Hamilton. Bird Call's upcoming full length collection is yet another display of the artist at her most sincere, creative, and endearing. Angelicola will release a music video for her new song "Miracle Man" in summer 2012. With a firm belief in the power of dreams, Bird Call continues to glisten as an ethereal, emotionally honest, and intuitive artist in the music world."

      Talain Rayne

Talain's music emanates the creativity and passion of someone who's been writing and playing for much longer than a mere four years. His dynamic personality is reflected in the melodramatic, electronic-infused, pop-rock that is bound together by his characteristic voice. He draws inspiration from varying influences like Sleeping at Last, Coldplay, Sigur Ros, The Rocket Summer, and Shiny Toy ... As for the songs themselves, they are influenced by nostalgia and his closest relationships, in a form more reminiscent of a child's dream than a cookie-cutter song. "A lot of the songs have scenes that don't quite seem to connect, kind of like a child's dream," says Talain. "They're summed up in memories; each scene and every word is a part of the story, part of this child's dream—" A dream that tugs on listeners' hearts, despite being incredibly specific to the writer alone. In songs like "Family Wall" he doesn't hold back personal family struggles: "So tempted to say/ that all the photographs/ all the times we laughed/ WERE THEY REAL?/ Mommy left ten years ago/ with that burger-face pic on the patio." Nor does he hold back the hope and love that is so integral to his character. In "Owls" he sings for his friends, "Please get inside cause something's coming/ no emotion, no lies, and no religion/ it's real enough/ just something I call love."

      Shira Goldberg

Shira plays music that is both driving and dreamlike. Incorporating elements of post punk, soul, grunge and country she sings from the heart, especially if it's broken. "When I'm writing a song it's like I'm trying to untangle a knot inside my head," she says. "Some inner worlds can only be expressed in song. Some emotions are too powerful and complex to ever fully be understood." Her latest release, "My Heart Is Full Of Lightning", is her attempt to try and untie this delicate knot. Her powerful vocals and overdriven sensibilities convey a sense of urgency balanced with a soulful longing and ultimately hopeful resolution. "We all feel a little lost simetimes," she says. "I hope that my music can help people find themselves, at least a little bit."
