Project Hope for Greece New Jersey Fundraiser

Evellyn Tsiadis will be hosting a cocktail reception fundraiser at the Pines Manor, a landmark in the heart of Central New Jersey, on March 1, 2013. Tsiadis, who is the president of the Board of Trustees of Saint Basil Academy, a Greek Orthodox Archdiocese home for children with special needs, orphans and youngsters coming from a dysfunctional home, is a dedicated supporter of the Greek America Foundation. She is also a Past Grand President of the Daughters of Penelope, the women's affiliate organization of the AHEPA Family. Her decision to raise money for Project Hope for Greece stems from her lifelong commitment to helping others.“Both my parents came from Greece,” she says. “My mom was an orphan. My dad came here with probably $2 in his pocket. They are the American Dream and they definitely instilled in us the importance of giving back.” Visiting Greece regularly with her Greece-born husband Steve, Tsiadis has witnessed first-hand the daily struggle faced by many Greeks amidst the ongoing economic crisis. “We know what it’s like,” she says. “And coming from the parents that I have and their background and history growing up, we don’t want to wish that on anyone. It’s important for everyone to do something, whether its $5 or $100,000. Every dollar makes a difference.” As for Project Hope for Greece and the charities it will fund, Tsiadis says: “The charities that have been selected are all worthy of our support - one is more worthy than the next. The money will definitely make a difference. This is what is most important.” Tickets are 100% deductible not including the $2 processing fee. Donation - $0.00 General Admission - $100.00
