Whisperings Solo Piano Concert at Rockland Conservatory

This concert features Whisperings artists Joe Bongiorno (Seattle), Greg Maroney (Pennsylvania) and Louis Landon (New York). JOE BONGIORNO - Kawai Artist "Glass of wine {e_description}amp; candlelight music"... a phrase that perfectly describes the intimate melodies of Seattle based solo pianist - composer Joe Bongiorno. After abandoning his classical training as a child, Joe returned to the piano in his late 20's and discovered a wonderful channel of peace {e_description}amp; emotional release. Joe has one album of the year at in 2010 {e_description}amp; twice nominated for album of the year at Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, 2007 {e_description}amp; 2011. All of Joe's solo piano recordings are self produced at his Piano Haven Recording Studio. GREG MARONEY is a contemporary solo piano artist who has composed and recorded 11 CDs of original piano music, and also has music on 3 compilation disks. His music is emotionally rich yet peaceful, capturing the beauty and majesty of life. He can be compared to other masters of contemporary piano such as Wayne Gratz, David Lanz, Michael Dulin, Liz Story, David Nevue, and Jim Brickman. Greg currently lives with his wife on a small farm in south central Pennsylvania. They have chickens, raise a great deal of their own food, and seek to live peacefully and in harmony with nature. A quote from Greg Maroney: "I have been asked many times what inspires me, where does the music come from, what drives me to create. Simple. Nature. Wind, water, birds flying, plants growing, dogs barking, chickens squawking. The love of my wife. Listening to Vladimir Horowitz play all the great classical composers. Or Robert Earl Keen singing Armadillo Jackal. Discovering Pink Floyd 20 years later. A great cup of coffee. Creating something with my own hands. Growing enough in the vegetable garden to share with friends and still enough to then savor all winter. The sound of a freshly tuned tiller or chainsaw. The sound and feel of a freshly tuned piano. Building my barn with only hand tools. In short, all the usual things that surrounds us day to day. I hope you find music in your world and your world in my music." LOUIS LANDON - Steinway Artist has dedicated his life to music. His passion is for peace. His career has taken him around the world playing a variety of styles with some of the most recognized names in the entertainment industry: classical music for Mikhail Baryshnikov on national and international tours, Latin music with "Pucho and his Latin Soul Brothers" on national and international tours, pop music with Rupert "Pina Colada Song" Holmes on television and national tours, rock {e_description}amp; roll with John Hall, opening for "Little Feat" on national tours. For the past 23 years, through his production company, Landon Music, he has written and produced music for film, video, and commercials, including three years of "best plays" and "bloopers" commercials for the National Basketball Association. Not long ago, Landon realized that his music - the solo piano compositions that bring him so much joy and peace, could surely bring joy, and particularly peace, to millions around the world. Louis Landon's mission is to create a more loving and peaceful world by writing, recording and performing, music from the heart. He has released 11 CDs on the LCI record label and has just finished recording his latest album project entitled Peaceful Solo Piano from the Heart.
