Cyber Safety & ID Theft Prevention - Essential Tips for the Savvy Consumer

Are you an educated, cyber-savvy consumer? Do you think about cyber safety and security in your daily life and business choices – or is it something that only seems to impact other careless people. Unfortunately, consumer fraud and ID theft are all around us. ID theft remains one of the most common crimes to strike consumers – even conscientious consumers. It continually takes on new forms that may be more difficult to detect and correct. Before falling prey to cyber-scams, educate yourself, look for the red flags and know what to avoid. If you are victimized, know the key steps to take to minimize the damage. This important program is offered free to the general public as a service of your local Better Business Bureau. Presented by Brian Rauer of the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan New York. Part of Financial Planning Day    Classroom 3 Brian Rauer is Executive Director of the Mid-Hudson (NY) BBB and General Counsel of the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan New York. Earlier experience includes the Manhattan based law firm of Plunkett & Jaffe, P.C.
