      In any aspect of chemical engineering you work in, cost estimating is a valuable skill. The techniques used can be applied to improve your personal finances and projects. Our speaker, Allen C. Hamilton has over 25 year’s experience in cost estimating, and will be presenting on : Conceptual & Parametric Estimating Techniques. Hamilton PMP CCE Mr. Hamilton is principal of a consulting firm providing Project Management and Cost Management services to a variety of clients. Services include independent project reviews, training, and risk assessments. Mr. Hamilton earned a BBC from the University of Florida, Construction Management, an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, an International Business PMP from the Project Management Institute, Project Management Professional CCE from AACE International, and is a Certified Cost Engineer by the International Cost Engineering Council, Intl. and is a Certified Cost Engineer.   Mr. Hamilton retired from Exxon Mobil Research and Engineering Co. after more than 25 years of service. He started his career as an engineer with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company maintaining a headquarters project-reporting center on the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline project. After joining Exxon Research and Engineering Co. he was seconded to Shell Exploration& Production Company as a Schedule Engineer responsible for schedule control and reporting on the Brent Field offshore development projects in the North Sea. He was appointed Civil Project Manager for Esso Standard Libya at Marsa el Brega, Libya and was responsible for over US$10 million in projects. He was appointed Assistant Manager of Contracts on loan to Morrison Knudsen Co and was responsible for the development and awarding of over US$50 million in contracts on the US$2 billion Cerrejon Coal Project. He assumed a two-year appointment to the Fife Ethylene Project in Scotland for Esso Chemical UK as a project leader. In 1989 he participated in the US$2 billion oil spill clean up in Valdez, Alaska as a special projects manager. Before shifting his career, he was located in the home office in New Jersey as a Group Head where he was responsible for project planning, project estimates, and project schedules for the special projects group.   In 1993 and 1994 Mr. Hamilton served AACE International as Section President, Outstanding Section and is listed in the 2000 Who’s Who in Science & Engineering, 5th Edition. He is a contributing author to The Engineers Cost Handbook, 1997. More publication information is available on request which include: Project Execution Planning, International Projects, Estimating, Estimating Best Practices, Risk Management and Cost Management. These papers have been presented at meetings of the International Project Management Association, International Cost Engineering Council and AACE International.
