Speak Up! How to Conquer Public Speaking Without Fear

SPEAK UP! HOW TO CONQUER PUBLIC SPEAKING WITHOUT FEAR Facilitator: Lorelei Ormrod, Faculty Advisor, Leadership & Community Development, NYU Leadership Initiative We know what we want to say, but in the moment, it’s easy to freeze or lose track of our point. This practical workshop focuses on the foundations of public speaking. You’ll practice shaping your narrative for different audiences and different time frames, analyze your body language and speech patterns, and learn techniques to strengthen your rapport with your audience. You’ll strengthen your sense of how your “pitch” can embody your ethos. Put simply, you’ll learn to be yourself in places far beyond your comfort zone. *This event is part of the Lunch & Lead series. For a full schedule of all events in the series, please visit **Refreshments will be served on a first come first serve basis. *** For any questions about accessibility or to request accommodations, please contact Jasmin Nazarian at or 212.992.6073.
