Special Screening of Crime & Punishment and Courageous Panel Discussion

We would like to invite you to a special screening event of the Emmy Nominated, Hulu documentary Crime & Punishment on Saturday, August 24th, 2019 at 5:30pm, hosted by members of the South Bronx Community: Jason Acosta, who is an educator, social worker, and adjunct professor, and Ritchie Baez, member of law enforcement. The screening will be followed by a bold and courageous panel discussion about the systemic injustices within the NYPD. Crime and Punishment, winner of Sundance's special jury award for social impact, shares the story of a brave group of officers, who risked it all to expose the truth about illegal quota pracitces in police departments across New York City. Issues include systemic abuse of arrests and summons quotas that target black and brown communities in the South Bronx and across NYC. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring members of law enforcement: Edwin Raymond, Ritchie Baez, Pedro Serrano, Manuel Gomez, and will be moderated by South Bronx Native, Jason Acosta (Educator, Social Worker, and Adjunct Professor).
