      World Oceans Week, Day 2 - June 4 Program

      We are honored to host our third annual World Oceans Week, presented by Rolex and OceanX, June 3rd thru 8th. All morning and daytime events during the week free and open to the public, while the evening events will be tradition ticketed programs.

      Session 4 - Tuesday Morning - 9:45am - 12:30pm
      • Panel 1: Arctic and Antarctic: Similarities and Differences
      • Featured speaker: Joe Dituri, On Diving Deep (Underwater Explorer)
      • Panel 2: Weddell Sea Expedition - Moderator: Julie Chase (The Explorers Club)

      Session 5 - Tuesday Afternoon - 2:00 pm - 5:30pm
      • Panel 1: Whales - Howard Rosenbaum (Ocean Giants Program, WCS)
      • Panel 2: Pollution Solutions
      • Featured speaker: David Doubilet & Jen Hayes (National Geographic)

      Session 6 - Tuesday Evening - 6:00 pm - 9:00pm
      • Rethinking the Ocean - An evening of performance and dialogue curated by Barbara Hoffman with noted artists and scientists working to help us see and understand the ocean from a new perspective. Featuring Joan Jonas (MIT), Paul D. Miller aka D.J. Spooky (Composer & Multimedia Artist), Julie A. Huber (Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution), Dan Kohn (Artist)

      TEC HQ will also feature several week-long installations and programs, including:
      * Art installations
      * Sustainable foods
      * Interactive exhibits, Augmented & Virtual Reality
      * School group visits with our friends from Reach the World
      * Surprise guests and lightning talks

      Cost: Payment required - Events are FREE during the day; $25 after 6pm ($5 with a valid academic student ID)
